Prost AP03 - some minor body cowling and monocoque surgery
Sunday, May 2, 2010, 09:59 AM - Prost AP03
Got some minor progress over the weeknight.

Cut off the side wings. I will soon put some epoxy putty to reprofile the rear part of the cowling.. then scratch build a new side wings to attach on both sides.

Replaced the airbox entry with F1-2000 one. Also trying hard to sand the monocoque top flat... A lot of epoxy putty will follow after that.

Opened up exhaust openings. Used styrene sheets to recreate the angled slot.

Progress is very slow :)

Hmm what my next project is...
Sunday, April 18, 2010, 11:15 AM - Prost AP03
After several curbside projects in the past 4 yrs (well except the commissioned build of 1/12 F1-2000), I am searching for next subject. I want to build something blue this time. I have been thinking about doing the Leyton House.. but also like to do something a bit 'modern' F1. I think I am going to try my hand on converting a MP4/13 into Prost AP03.

AP03 did very bad in 2000 season, but it has the richest sponsorship that year.. including French tobacco and Yahoo!.. and the blue looks cool!

This won't be a super detailed one like my Ferraris, but I will try to display the engine details this time at least. Don't want to spend too much time before my interest fades out on a subject. :) The decal is replacement decal from Studio 27 that I got it from Mark at mshobbies.com. Not sure how it will go, but it could be fun :)
